Day 15.

Hey everyone day 15 and so far so good. Couple of pics here I've just taken and as you can see theres still allot swelling but its has reduced lots since the op and i feel fairly comfortable going out of the house and being amongst the public. I can hold a good conversation now too and don't sound like im drunk anymore and last night i had some chips from McDonald's! Hooray! Thats fries my American friends, yes big fat juicy fries! Mmmmmm fries. In the 1st pic that's as far as i can open my mouth so not quite enough for a big mac yet. Hmmm a blended big mac....... just a thought.
Went to see my orthodontist (Prof Hunt) last week who's an absolute legend by the way and my surgeon who's lovely too and they seemed very happy with the outcome. They asked me if i was happy but to be honest it hard to say if im 100% over the moon when my face is the size a football (soccer ball!) But if Professor Hunt is happy then so am i, seriously i would walk of a cliff if he asked me too.
Will def get some pics of me on here soon 1 hour post op, until then take care.

Day 7.

Hey day 7 and i thought id give a lil update and also this picture of me with my braces and my beautiful moustache. I took this about 6 months after i 1st got my braces and although its bit hard to make out whats going on you can tell my bottom set of teeth are about 4mm to the left of my top teeth.

Have kindly received some comments from kirsten and mrs shanton in which they told me things will start to get better after a week or so after my op and hopefully its starting to come true as i had my best night sleep yet last night so thanks guys. The bruising is slowly coming out now and the swelling is slowly going down but still freaks me out looking in the mirror....... i look a little like sam from lord of the rings! Know u fellow bloggers love your pics so will get u some on here soon so you all have a good old laugh.

Chat soon.

Thats me on the left aged 25 i think. Only just got laptop so have limited photos of me will post more when i get them.

long journey.

I have been reading other peoples blogs and thought why not write my own blog as i found so many others helpful and comforting in the lead up to my operation. I had been playing with the idea of having bimaxillary osteomy since i was 17 to obtain what seems like a life long ambition to achieve a perfect bite and smile. When i was 26 i decided that i was never really going to be happy with my appearance and would probably regret it if i never went for it so i went for it! Well here i am 2 days after my operation and although im in pain and fed up with my girlfriend and mum feeding me porridge on the handle of a teaspoon through the smallest of gaps between my teeth i am pleased the operation is over and hopefully as the swelling starts to go down and i can see the results i can say its all worth it.

My sister took the liberty of taking some pics of me the second i returned from the operation in hospital and once i get hold of her camera and providing im not too embarrassed of them il post them on here.
